Mr Hastings is currently the Head of Brighton College Prep School. Clarissa also works with us on headship appointments, and her projects include assisting the Governors with the search and selection of the new Heads of St Edward’s Oxford and the Dragon School.Harry Hastings has been appointed Head of the Prep School from January 2018. She is a Fellow (Governor) of Winchester College and was a Governor of The Royal Ballet School for 11 years until December 2019, chairing the academic and artistic committee. Being fortunate to have benefited from a fruitful and enduring coaching relationship in her own professional life, she now acts as a coach and mentor to many making their career both in schools and in the professions.Ĭlarissa also has experience of governance and a keen interest in the role of non-executive directors and the effectiveness of boards, taking the Financial Times diploma in non-executive directorship in 2015. A former President of the Boarding Schools Association and Chairman of the Girls’ Schools’ Association UK, Clarissa draws together this wealth of experience as an expert on education and leadership. Since leaving headship, Clarissa has spent the past two years as a senior adviser and education director for a fast-growing international schools group, Inspired. She has worked in co-educational and single sex schools, as well as in day and boarding. In her early life as a teacher she taught in a non-selective city comprehensive, and, more recently, after her first Headship at Queenswood, she led for 11 years one of the country’s highest-achieving academic girls’ schools, St Paul’s in west London.
